So the past several weeks have been absolutely bonkers. At work, I have had three farewells to staff members and one more coming up.
Three weeks ago, we bid adieu to our worship pastor has God opened the door for a wonderful position in Wisconsin. Then two Sundays ago we said farewell to our Senior Pastor who has been my pastor for over 21 years. Yesterday, we had a farewell luncheon for a support team member who is heading back to medical school. One more farewell and this season should be over for a while.
I am not one for change or maybe I am, I am not sure. But God has given me such an excitement for the future of this church and the direction He is leading us that these changes are not a burden to me but instead a joy.
Last night, I met with my life group and we discussed chapter 7 of Esther. We have been enjoying this time of Esther's story and digging into the message that we can carry with us throughout the week. Last night the main theme we all saw was faithfulness. Esther and the entire Israel nation was facing total annihilation at the hand of one of their mortal enemies. God impressed upon my spirit his faithfulness because God has promised the Israelites that he would drive out the nations before them so that Israelites could take possession of the land. The Amalekites were bent on destroying the Israelites that God promised to wipe them completely off the earth. Several hundred years after that promise, God still fulfilled it as Haman was killed and the Israelites spared.
I ponder Esther's story. Granted I am not facing annihilation today but I am facing changes that will affect my work. Yet God is faithful to continue His work through me and through my home church to reveal Himself to his children. So i am looking forward to that.
That is it for today! Enjoy the days ahead and hold fast to God's promises for He is truly faithful!
